Megadeth的主场/主音吉他手：Dave Mustaine 曾经是Metallica 乐队的吉他手却因为滥用药物和酗酒而毁了他的前程。1983年4月的一个早晨，Dave Mustaine 被乐队的其他成员叫醒，他们给了 Dave Mustaine 一张回家的长途汽车票，告诉他已被赶出乐队，这件事对 Dave Mustaine 打击很大，他开始发愤图强。他找来 Dave Ellefson ，还有 Chris Poland（guitars）和 Gars Samuelson（drums），组建了 Megadeth 乐队。
